Nursery
Welcome to our Nurseries
At each school within the Federation we have a nursery. Our nurseries offer a safe, happy, nurturing and rich environment in which all children from 3 years old will flourish and reach their full potential through our immersive family approach. Adults foster positive relationships with the children and their families, seeing them as individuals. We support our children to be independent learners, gaining valuable life-long skills during their time with us. As a team we guide the children to follow their own interests and ideas to ignite an enthusiasm for learning about the world through a play-based approach. Our approach is rooted in the characteristics of effective learning, helping the children to develop the confidence to play and explore, perseverance and joy in achieving what they set out to do and thinking critically by making links. We aim to promote the ‘thrill, will and skill’ in learning and aim to spark a love for learning, producing happy children who want to come to school.
Children are welcome to start within nursery from their third birthday and can attend for morning, afternoon or full day sessions, either part time or full time.
Morning Session: 9am-12pm
Afternoon Session 1pm–3.30pm
Any hours which are not covered by the government’s free childcare system are charged at £5.50 per hour.
Please go to https://www.gov.uk/free-childcare-if-working for further information about the government’s childcare scheme.
How children are welcomed into our environments
Prospective families are encouraged to visit our nurseries to have a feel for the environment and to gain further information. Children are welcome to start nursery straight after their third birthday. Families are offered the opportunity of transition sessions, either for a morning or an afternoon, to help their child settle in the environment and begin to build relationships with our Early Years team before starting to attend nursery on their set days. Adults will communicate with parents/ carers about how their child is settling in and progressing through a communication planner to record key messages and the use of the online learning journal ‘Tapestry’ to celebrate their child’s learning and development.
If you wish to organise a taster day, please contact the school office for further information.
